Day Trip to Daylesford - Part 3 Lake Daylesford and Mineral Springs

Lake Daylesford is a short 5 minute drive from Wombat Hills Botanical Gardens, so we decided to explore that next. When we came here last year, Max enjoyed the cool, mineral spring water, so this year we had come prepared with our keep cup!

It was a lovely morning, with the sun just starting it's lazy way out of the clouds. The air was fresh and still cool. There were a few people around but it was overall quiet and refreshing to walk along the lake, hand in hand, enjoying this moment and making plans about our future (big surprise coming up soon!)

I changed my top in the car. I had come prepared with a change of clothes, knowing that the weather would get warmer as the day went on. Typical Melbourne weather!
Goofing around. There is a little goofy kid inside us all!
Nailed it haha. Tree pose 🌳
😘
Lake Daylesford. So calm and beautiful.
The first mineral spring we visited. It was just off Lake Daylesford. Max eagerly pumping the water and filling his keep cup.
He loved the taste!

After sampling water from the first spring, we were off to the next one, which was over the bridge and on the other side of the river.

Made it to the spring!
Offering me some....I took a tiny sip haha.
On our way back around the lake and to our car.
Had to stop to take a photo of the beautiful landscape
The shot
My wonderful husband. We talked about how nice (and expensive!) it must be to live in one of these houses right by the lake, but it might be a tad bit noisy with all the people visiting the lake!

Before finishing this post, I have some highlights from our trip here last year:

  • It was a lot sunnier (but colder!) when we came here last year. It was in late February 2024. I got some really nice photos.
View from where we parked
Walk from the carpark to the lake
Walk along the lake
The lake. Look at that beautiful blue sky. But I had to wear a jumper because of the cool wind!
Hues of green. The bridge from the other side.
  • We saw a birdie showing off, drying his feathers in the sun.
He was drying his wings. What a handsome one!
  • We found this little clearing amongst the trees, which felt to me like a hidden fairy camp. The sun was shinning in the middle, surrounded by tall trees. It felt magical. Like something from a fairytale.

  • We also ventured a bit off the beaten path
Maxi found someone having a little snack along the path.
  • An echidna!
