Day Trip to Daylesford - Part 1 Cliffy's Emporium

Date: Saturday, 25 January 2025
Most of the year, it's too cold for us to travel around Victoria, but when Summer comes around we try to make the most of those sunny, warm days. Victoria is so beautiful and although we are living here right now, we might not be in the future. We want to make the most of our time here, explore the area a bit and record our experiences and memories.
Daylesford is just over an hour from our home. Just right for a day trip!

We actually came here last year and loved it, and thought it would be nice to re-visit it. Especially our favourite cafe - Cliffy's Emporium. It was so delicious that we went there twice last time (once on the way to our accommodation in Daylesford and then once on the way back to Melbourne).

This year:
Remembering how busy it got last time we were there, this time Max booked a table in advance. And good that we did! It get's pretty busy around breakfast time - it's nice to see that business is going well for such a lovely place. The food was super delicious, staff were nice and it had a great atmostphere.

We were seated near the aircon, but it was a bit cold so I asked a staff member if we could move futher away. She was very friendly and agreed to move us to a different table. She also turned off the A/C as it was indeed a bit chilly that early in the morning.

Max ordered the Vego Country Breakfast and I got the White Bean Bruschetta. We made an exception to our mostly vegan diet this time as the meals had eggs and some cheese, but it was worth it in terms of taste.
The bruschetta was vegan, but I added a poached egg. I'm not really an egg lover, but oh my gosh, this one was perfection. Max also gave me some of his greens to try (it was a yummy mix of kale, spinach and broccolinni) and some mushrooms. I don't know what they did with the mushrooms but they were incredible - juicy and tasty (they made the mushrooms whole!) I'm already dreaming about going back for the incredible food!
